Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By submitting a device or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer") and STS Telecom ("STS Telecom," "we," "us," or "our"), a Florida-based data recovery and device repair business operating at ststele.com. These Terms govern all repair, data recovery, diagnostic, and related services we provide, as well as your use of our website and customer portal.

By shipping a device to us, submitting a service request, using our customer portal, or purchasing any service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

2. Services

2.1 Scope of Services

STS Telecom provides mobile device repair, logic board repair, chip-level microsoldering, and data recovery services for Apple, Samsung, Google, and other platforms. Services are described on our website and price list at ststele.com.

2.2 Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or discontinue service to any customer or for any device at our sole discretion. We will notify you promptly if we are unable to service your device and will return it to you at no charge for the refused service.

2.3 Prior Repair Attempts

Our published prices apply to devices that have not been previously altered by third-party repair attempts involving soldering equipment or other logic board rework. Devices with prior rework may require additional evaluation and will be priced on a case-by-case basis. We will communicate any adjusted pricing to you before proceeding.

2.4 No Recovery, No Charge

For data recovery services, STS Telecom operates on a "no recovery, no charge" basis. If we are unable to recover data from your device, you will not be charged for the recovery service.

3. Pricing and Payment

3.1 Pricing

Our prices are published on our price list and represent the maximum amount we will charge for a listed service. We will not combine or stack multiple repair charges without your prior approval. For services not listed, please submit a price request through our website.

3.2 Invoicing

Upon completion of a repair or recovery, we will create an invoice and deliver it to you by email. You may also access and pay invoices through the customer portal at ststele.com. Payment is accepted online by credit or debit card via the secure payment link on your invoice.

3.3 Payment Due Date

Payment is due within 14 days of the date we notify you that your service is complete. Invoices paid before 3:00 PM Eastern Time on a business day will be shipped the same day. Invoices paid after 3:00 PM Eastern Time or on a non-business day will be shipped the next business day.

3.4 Shipping Charges

Return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer and will be included in your invoice. Shipping charges are non-refundable once a device has been shipped.

4. Warranty

4.1 Repair Warranty

All paid repair services are warranted for 90 days from the date of repair completion. This warranty covers the specific issue or issues addressed in the repair. It does not cover:

  • Unrelated issues or pre-existing conditions not part of the original repair
  • Damage caused by accident, misuse, liquid exposure, or unauthorized modifications after the repair
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Any device or component not included in the original scope of service

4.2 Complimentary Services

Any service provided at no charge (complimentary or courtesy work) is not covered by warranty. Only paid services are eligible for warranty coverage.

4.3 Warranty Service

To obtain warranty service, you must return the device to us within the warranty period. If we determine that the issue is covered under warranty, we will repair it at no charge. If we are unable to resolve the warranted issue, we will refund the original repair charge. Warranty service does not extend the original warranty period.

4.4 Disclaimer of Implied Warranties

Except as expressly set forth in Section 4.1, all services and devices are provided "as is." STS Telecom makes no warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any device will be restored to full functionality or that data recovery will be successful in whole or in part.

5. Data and Device Responsibility

5.1 Data Backup — Repair Customers

If your device is functional and you are submitting it for a repair service, you are responsible for backing up your data before shipping the device to us. Repair procedures can carry a risk of data loss in certain circumstances, and we recommend ensuring your data is backed up prior to submission.

By submitting a device for repair, you acknowledge this risk and agree that STS Telecom is not responsible for loss of data that occurs during the repair process, except as caused directly by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

5.2 Data Recovery Customers

We understand that customers submitting a device for data recovery are doing so precisely because normal access to the device is not possible. We do not expect data recovery customers to back up their device before submission — that is what you are sending it to us for.

STS Telecom will treat your device and its contents with the utmost care. We will make all reasonable efforts to recover your data and will communicate honestly with you about what was and was not recoverable. As with all recovery work, outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and recovery may be complete, partial, or in some cases unsuccessful despite our best efforts.

If you are submitting a device for data recovery, please describe the circumstances of the failure (e.g., water damage, drop, won't power on) when you submit your service request. This helps us assess the situation before your device arrives.

5.3 Ownership and Authorization

By submitting a device for service, you represent and warrant that you are the lawful owner of the device and all data on it, or that you have the express authorization of the lawful owner to submit the device for service. You agree to indemnify and hold STS Telecom harmless from any claim arising from a breach of this representation.

5.4 Data Handling

Our handling of data encountered during service is governed by our Privacy Policy. Device data is stored on offline, air-gapped storage and is not transmitted over the internet except as expressly requested by you (e.g., a cloud upload at your direction).

6. Return and Refund Policy

6.1 Warranty Returns

If a repair issue recurs within the 90-day warranty period, the device must be returned to us for service as described in Section 4.3. We do not issue refunds for warranty issues unless we are unable to resolve the covered problem.

6.2 Non-Warranty Refunds

We do not issue refunds for issues that are unrelated to the original repair, for damage occurring after the device was returned to you, or for shipping charges.

6.3 Unsuccessful Repairs

If we are unable to complete a repair for which payment has been made, we will refund the repair charge in full.

7. Abandoned Devices

7.1 Unpaid Completed Services

If payment for a completed repair or recovery is not received within 90 days of our completion notice, the device will be considered abandoned. Prior to treating the device as abandoned, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you using the contact information on file, including at least one written notice sent to your email address of record.

7.2 Unresponsive Customers — Unrepairable Devices

If we receive a device, determine that it is not repairable or not recoverable, and are unable to reach you after reasonable attempts over a period of one year from the date of our initial notice, the device will be considered abandoned.

7.3 Disposition of Abandoned Devices

Abandoned devices may be used for parts, sold, recycled, or otherwise disposed of at our discretion to offset unpaid labor, service fees, and storage costs. By submitting a device, you consent to this disposition in the event of abandonment as defined above. We are not liable to you for any value of an abandoned device following disposition.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, STS Telecom's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

In no event shall STS Telecom be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, or cost of substitute services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Force Majeure

STS Telecom shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, fire, flood, pandemic, civil unrest, carrier delays, supply chain disruptions, power outages, or government actions. In such events, we will notify you as soon as practicable and resume performance when conditions allow.

10. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

10.1 Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute process, you agree to contact us in good faith and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Most concerns can be addressed quickly through our website.

10.2 Binding Arbitration

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and STS Telecom agree to resolve any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except as provided in Section 10.4 below.

Arbitration shall be conducted by a mutually agreed-upon arbitration service, or if the parties cannot agree, by a single arbitrator selected under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in Florida, or by telephone or video conference at either party's request. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

10.3 Waiver of Class Action

You and STS Telecom agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

10.4 Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Either party may seek emergency injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration.

10.5 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent any court action is permitted under these Terms, you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state or federal courts located in Florida.

11. General Provisions

11.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and STS Telecom with respect to our services and supersede all prior agreements, representations, or understandings, whether written or oral.

11.2 Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a new Effective Date. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court or arbitrator, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

11.4 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
