About that "account updated" email
If you got one or more emails from us on August 8th saying your account was updated, and you hadn't touched anything: that was us, and I'm sorry for the scare.
Here's what happened. If you typed your email address with a capital letter, our software read it as a different address and couldn't find your account - so your login failed even with the right password. Understandably, people assumed they had no account with us and registered a new one, and our software accepted it instead of recognizing the address it already had. Over the years, that left some customers with more than one account.
On August 8th we combined those duplicate accounts back into one, so each customer has a single login again. Our system sends an automatic notification every time an account changes, and merging accounts counts as a change - so you got a notice, or a few, for work we were doing on our end.
Nothing was lost. Your repairs, tickets and invoices are all still there, on the account you kept. You don't need to do anything, and you don't need to change your password. Nobody accessed your account, and this wasn't a security problem.
We've also fixed the underlying cause, so capital letters in your email address no longer matter when you log in, and duplicate accounts won't be created going forward.
If anything looks wrong on your account, or you're still having trouble logging in, please get in touch and we'll sort it out.
